Apollo 8 - NASA Manned Flight Awareness Flown Medal |
This unique collectible medal is one of the most highly prized of all NASA award medals. It was designed and produced by NASA's Manned Flight Awareness office as a official token of appreciation to be awarded to those who made the Apollo 8 mission possible. This medal was minted using aluminium metal that was flown to the Moon and back during the Apollo 8 mission by Commander Frank Borman. This represented the first time that NASA had purposely flown material in order to produce a corporate award for those who made the mission possible. So, not only was this flown to the Moon and back on the first ever manned Lunar voyage, but also the first of the famous, highly collectible NASA Manned Flight Awareness medallions. In what became traditional NASA style, it carries the official declaration of authenticity in raised text on the reverse, verifying that the metal actually flew to the Moon and back... "In Appreciation For Your Contribution To The Apollo Saturn Project. The Apollo 8 Crew Carried Metal In This Medallion On Man's First Flight To The Moon". Measures 39mm diameter.

Apollo 11 - Lunar Dust Presentation !!! |
Produced by The Spaceflori Corporation, this unique and limited edition presentation contains an actual sample of Apollo 11 Lunar Dust mounted to high quality photographic 8" x 10" print. The Lunar dust was recovered from the actual camera magazine that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin used to photograph the historic first moonwalk. It was Mr. Slezak's task to take care of the development of the historic film rolls after the mission when he accidentally got in touch with lunar dust on the camera magazine that - unknown to him - dropped to the lunar surface shortly before Neil Armstrong got back inside the Lunar Module. Slezak was then put into quarantine along with the astronauts. As a memento to that incident he received an Apollo 11 presentation containg the Lunar dust from the astronauts which he sold in 2001 in a public space auction. Each print is numbered and accompanied by a matching numbered certificate of authenticity and fact sheet. A highly desirable and top quality presentation with your own piece of historic space flown hardware attached. Ready to frame and display in any discerning collection.
