NASA Space Documentaries

We are pleased to offer an extensive collection of original NASA video documentaries which collectively tell the story of America's courageous space explorers and missions. We invite you to enjoy the epic story of NASA and American space exploration straight from NASA themselves as all these titles were produced and released by NASA shorty after each mission and all utilizing original (now archive) NASA footage and commentary.
Unlike most modern day space documentaries, these original NASA productions focus purely on the titled mission and host a lot of wonderful original footage, commentary and communications with little voice-over. Please note that although these original NASA video documentaries feature some wonderful footage and communications, they are NOT high quality audio or video. This is representative of all these original NASA productions.
All titles have been professionally manufactured using the original NASA cinefilm / HD source and each disk features appropriate imagery and information, each disk supplied sealed in a paper & plastic sleeve. These were not intended for commercial sale and so they are NOT supplied in a traditional DVD case with glossy sleeve.

     Project Mercury
     - "The World Was There" NASA DVD

This original NASA production is an accurate demonstration in action of an open society and free press during the early 1960's Space Race and Project Mercury. Shuttle mission STS-54 realised what had been hoped for Christa McAuliffe and the "Teacher in Space" project which ended tragically when the Shuttle Challenger exploded shortly after launch. During their mission in space, the entire crew of STS-54 hosted a lesson from space demonstrating how toys behave in zero-gravity. The lesson was was broadcast live to schools across America and had a direct link to some schools allowing the children to ask specific questions and have the astronauts answer live from space.
Presented by mission Commander John Casper, this DVD starts with a brief five minute introduction to the crew and highlights the mission objectives.
Brilliant lesson for teachers and schools !!! This is the complete lesson as broadcast live from space. Be amazed to see how toys act in space.... and learn why!! This is a HIGH QUALITY official NASA production.
