Highlights First British Citizen In Space.

"One pleasant evening at the end of June 1989 I was driving home from the Mars factory in Slough, listening to the car radio. While I sat in a traffic jam I flicked through the radio stations trying to find something to listen to. Suddenly, my attention was grabbed by a male voice. It said: ASTRONAUT WANTED, NO EXPERIENCE NECCESSARY.....".

This is an absolutely BRILLIANT, highly addictive book detailing everything about the first British citizen in space from application to launch, the Soviet space programme and the Soyuz TM-12 mission. Written by Helen Sharman herself and forwarded by Arthur C. Clarke. Ultimate insight to the running of the Soviet space programme and missions to Mir.  - Letter From Helen Sharman

Mission Soyuz TM-12 - Mir Space Station.
Launch 12:50 GMT. 18th May 1991. LC1 Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Highlights First British Citizen In Space.
This is a COPY of what appears to be a standard letter issued by Helen Sharman and sent to people who wrote to her following her spaceflight. She discusses her experiences and personal feelings about the both the training and mission, followed by her post-mission thoughts. We believe this is a standard letter which was merely copied for each response, only writing their name at the top to make it more personal. The signature does NOT appear to be original. Nevertheless a nice piece of memorabilia. Good condition.

 Soyuz TM-16
 - Flown Spacesuit Bag Relic

A stunning presentation offering a hands-on encounter with a genuine Mir flown spacesuit relic. This relic is an actual piece of a Russian penguin suit bag used during the Mir-13 expedition by Cosmonaut Alexander Poleschuk in 1993. Poleschuk (Poleshuk) served as flight engineer for the Soyuz-TM-16 transport vehicle and Mir Station for the 13th primary expedition. Launched on the 24th January 1993 he participated in a 179-day space flight with Cosmonaut Gennady Manakov and performed two EVAs totaling almost 10 hours. He also tested the androgynous peripheral docking subassembly of the Kristall module. Poleschuk returned with Cosmonauts Haignere and Manakov on the 22nd July 1993. He later trained as back-up flight engineer for the Mir-18 expedition and then additional training for the Mir-Shuttle programme and the International Space Station.

This flown relic is supplied with a custom produced, high quality 8" x 10" print of the Mir Space Station with Mir emblem and declaration of authenticity. Also includes a signed certificate of authenticity and Mir Space Station fact sheet. Collectively ideal for framing to make a highly conversational piece of history ready for any home, office or study.
An excellent and inexpensive Mir flown space relic.

 Soyuz TM-25
 - Flown & Signed Spacecraft Parachute Strap

Mission Soyuz TM-25. Mir Space Station Expedition 23.
Date Launched 10th February 1997. Landing 14th August 1997.
Highlights This was a mission that seemed to consist of an endless series of collisions, breakdowns, fires, and other emergencies. The TM-25 / MIR-23 crew of Commander Tsibliyev and Flight Engineer Lazutkin handed over control of Mir to the MIR-24 crew on the 14th August and entered Soyuz TM-25, landing in Kazakstan, 170 km SE of Dzezkazgan. The Soyuz landing rockets failed to fire on touchdown, giving one of the roughest landings experienced by a returning Mir crew.
This wonderful two-part framed presentation consists of a folding black metal display with glass inserts. On the left side is a 6" x 4" image of the Mir Space Station. On the right side is a large 4.5" piece of the Soyuz TM-25 parachute strap that became the crews only survival when the retro-rockets failed to fire on touchdown. It is mounted to a declaration of authenticity with information about the mission. Authenticated and hand-signed by TM-25 Flight Engineer Aleksandr Lazutkin himself. Total size; 12" x 4.25".
